 Key Stage 1

Key Stage 1 Curriculum

In Key Stage 1 the National Curriculum for England and Wales is used to deliver high quality and effective learning opportunities for all children.  Our unique setting within an international community allows for some adaptations to offer a purposeful and meaningful curriculum.

The curriculum in the Key Stage One classes aims to:

·         Encourage independence and a sense of responsibility

·         Foster spiritual and moral growth

·         Develop language and reasoning skills

·         Provide positive learning experiences

·         Promote creative and critical thinking

·         Instill respect and acceptance of others

A brief overview of the curriculum is published five times a year, at the start of each new topic and this gives parents examples of how they can support their child’s learning in the home.

The curriculum is enhanced by trips within the local community of Mesaieed, Al Wakra and Doha, visitors into school, and special events held in school.

The Importance of Parent Partnership

Parents are very well informed about the content of the curriculum through newsletters, the school website, weekly emailed homework tasks and a continuing number of workshops and open mornings.  A supportive and understanding relationship between parents and school ensures that the children are supported for success as they progress along their exciting journey in education.
