Key Stage 2 Science

In KS2 Science we aim to develop the children’s enjoyment and interest in Science and to help them gain an appreciation of its contribution to all aspects of everyday life. Children follow the National Curriculum of England which is adapted to suit our setting and the needs of our children.

Through a series of planned investigations and practical activities we ask them to pose their own questions about what they see around them. We build upon the children’s own curiosity about the world whilst also giving them a chance to plan fair testing, make predictions, record results using ICT, construct diagrams, graphs, tables and charts and to make generalisations about their learning. We also value the use of scientific language and vocabulary which we model with the children and encourage them to use it to explain their scientific thinking as they draw simple conclusions and write about what they have found.
