Key Stage 3 Global Citizenship

Global Citizenship lessons take place weekly and the course covers many aspects of what is going on in the world today. It is not an assessed subject, but the aim is to enthuse students to understand why actions are happening and what the consequences are. Topics that are and have been covered in key stage three are as follows:

Year 7

Human Rights, Democracy, Child Soldiers, Immigration, Conflict, Peace and War, General Elections and Voting.

Year 8

Differences in Race and Culture, Diverse Society, Human Rights, Refugees, Immigration, Economy, Political Systems, Freedom of Speech, Democracy, Media.

Year 9

Globalisation, Taxation, Poverty, Economy, Fair Trade, Community Needs, Charities, Action Plans, Community Action Projects.
