Key Stage 5 - HomeWork
Personal study time is a feature of
the timetable at Key Stage 5 which allows the students to consolidate, research
and action issued assignments outside the classroom. This is a reflection of
the increased demands that are expected of learners at this level and students
will still be expected to commit sufficient time to study and preparation when
at home. On average students are expected to spend 5 hours per week on each
subject outside of school lesson time.
Students who wish may return home
for private study. They must sign out at the main reception and it is then
expected that they will fully meet their obligations to their chosen courses.
Furthermore it is expected that they are punctual when returning for subjects
later in the day. Students remaining in school must spend their study time in
the school library which has a designated area for silent study.
Students who are failing to meet their performance targets
will have home study options withdrawn, they may be withdrawn from subjects
which could in turn jeopardise their place in the Sixth Form at MIS.
