M 0<3 - Mesiaeed Baby and Toddler Group
The aim of this group is to provide a safe and friendly environment for parents to meet and chat and for children to interact and socialise with other children of a similar age. We are open to all children aged 0-3 years inclusive.
Due to popular demand, we now hold sessions four times a week.
Foundation Campus Sessions
Twice a week, we hold sessions in the Foundation Campus of Mesiaeed International School. During this time the children have chance to use the outdoor play equipment, which includes climbing frames, slides, play houses, sand and water trays and bicycles. We have a designated classroom for our use on campus, which is equipped with many of the same items as the Nursery classrooms. The children can play with puzzles, a play house and shop, a dolls house and other educational toys. We have acquired a good number of books during this time and each child is allowed to select two books which they can take home with them each week. We always end these sessions with a circle time consisting of a story and a music session.
Golf Club Sessions
This is where the playgroup started and we have steadily grown. We have gradually built up a large and impressive collection of our own toys which are stored at the golf club and brought out on a rotation basis. Our most popular toys include the trampoline, slide, kitchen with accessories and pretend play equipment (dolls and accessories, doctor's kit etc). We have a rota in place for parents to sign up to volunteer to organise the weekly craft activity and provide sweet treats. Hot drinks and toast are provided for us by the golf club. The children have produced some excellent art work at these sessions and have enjoyed working with paint, glue and salt dough among other materials. These sessions are always ended with a circle time consisting of a music session and parachute play. There is a small fee for these sessions to cover the cost of the refreshments, craft materials and to go towards purchasing new toys.
A new venture we have started during the cooler weather is to meet at the park once a week. Each parent provides their child with a healthy snack and brings a blanket to sit on. We have a picnic, then a play on the playground, followed by a short activity (such as a nature trail) then end with bubbles and a story.
