Key Stage 1 School Structure

The structure of Key Stage 1 develops the fantastic foundations embedded by EYFS staff as the children continue their learning journey from the Foundation Campus to Primary and enter Year 1.

Literacy and Mathematics are the main focus of the curriculum and children participate in daily lessons.  In addition the children study a variety of other curriculum areas including Science, ICT, Art, Design and Technology, Qatar History and History and Geography.  The children are taught PE and Music by subject specialists.  The children attend a weekly assembly where they share their success and celebrate their achievements and hard work.  House pointes are announced and a trophy presented to the winning house.  Parents are invited to attend class assemblies throughout the year.

The class rooms are bright and inviting with stimulating displays adding to the children’s implicit learning. Lessons are taught utilising additional facilities such as our school library, food technology room, ICT suites, music room and gymnasium and include practical activities so that learning is varied and interesting to all children regardless of their learning style.

Our children are fully engaged and eager to learn during their days at school and cannot wait to return the next day to discover more!
