School Structure >> Key Stage 2 >> Year 4
We have 5 classes in Year 4 and our teachers are: Mrs Benfield, Mr Cowper, Mr Philips, Mrs Griffiths and Mr Holden.
Our teaching assistants are: Mrs Noja and Mrs Dimen.
In Year 4 we aim to have high standards and encourage the children to become organised and responsible learners. Part of this is recording all homework daily in their Homework diaries, and making sure that it is handed in on time.
We also expect Year 4 children to read every day for at least 15 minutes with an adult.
The children will continue to develop their skills and knowledge in Literacy and Numeracy, and are put into sets for these lessons. We also try to develop the children's creative talents in art and DT. We begin the year making Greek inspired pots and masks and later fit in some well needed sewing practice when we make purses!
Many other exciting things happen during Year 4:
We hold fun filled theme days e.g. Greek Day
We visit the amphitheatre at Katara and go bowling
at the end of the year
We welcome visitors from Japan, who teach us about the environment
