The majority of year 7 pupils will have participated in a
transition day in the Secondary school, familiarising them with the new
routines, structures and importantly meeting the members of staff who will be
The pupils will experience a diverse curriculum challenging them
both academically and physically, preparing them for IGCSE studies when they
reach key stage 4. Additional support and guidance will be provided if
necessary enabling each individual to reach their potential in all aspects of
their educational journey.
The success of pupils relies on the positive involvement of
three parties: the teaching staff, pupils and parents/carers of the children.
Strong communication links need to be established to enable information to flow
between these three parties. Pivotal to this process is the student’s form
tutor, who will monitor every aspect of the pupil’s school experience, liaising
with parents/carers on a regular basis in order to celebrate success whilst being
proactive in addressing any issues that may arise.
