School Structure >> Key Stage 3 >> Year 8
Hello from all of year 8!
Our year group is a lovely collection
of cultures and personalities, with a wide range of interests and achievements
to our name.
Year 8 is divided into 4 forms, each
with a supportive form tutor who is the first point of contact for students as
they start their day. The form tutor monitors each aspect their pupil’s school
experience and liaises with parents/guardians regarding academic progress and
pastoral care here at MIS. Should additional support be required for any
reason, pupils will be guided by their form tutor, Head of Year and subject
specialist staff throughout their learning journey, to ensure that each pupil
achieves their full potential.
Pupils will experience a varied
curriculum, building on their foundation knowledge and skills gained in year 7.
Each pupil is challenged to achieve their very best in all subjects, as well as
take part in Core Clubs and Extra-curricular Activities. We actively encourage
pupils to be as creative and forward thinking as possible in order to become
fully involved in the school community.
We have very high expectations of our
pupils in this year group, not only for academic success, but in order for them
to become respectful, thoughtful and resilient members of our society and the
wider world beyond.
Miss Jen Clarke
Head of Year 8
